Aerelon.com | GunGame is Moving

Postby Miller » Mon, 07 Jun 2010 11:44:06 +0000

As most of you know we have been considering moving the GunGame server to a new provider for some time now. The main reason for this is thanks to the ongoing stability issues and the current servers general random nature!

Therefore Tim and I are glad to announce that a new GunGame server is currently online and that we will be looking at switching the final parts which is the game stats over this evening which will see us complete the move over to the new server.

As it stands the current GunGame server will be up and online until the 22nd June, it may stay online for a little while longer, that all just depends on when it gets turned off by the provider.

Aerelon.com | GunGame
213.108.31.154:27010
STEAM://connect/213.108.31.154:27010

There also a few updates to the server:
1. No block has been added.
2. Two new maps: 1. gg_reflect. 2. gg_churchtimes_jungle
3. The GunGame mod has now been upgraded to 5.1
4. The anticamp mod has been updated and the camp timer lowered.
5. Knifep3n has been upgraded to the lastest version (Yes, this time it worked!)
6. Mani admin has been updated to the latest version. However admins probably wont notice anything as most of the update was backend stuff.

Think thats it. So all thats left is to switch the stats and get onto the server. :D We'll no doubt post when we switch the stats over.

Thank you. :)

Yeah, I also spotted a plug-in on a server a while back that asks if you want to be redirected to a new server. Unfortunately i could find that specific plug-in, however I have found an alternative which I will be putting on the GunGame server when we switch the stats over. Just hope it works. If not then i'll just plaster the server with the new server details. :P

I also really hope this new server can cope. :)

The servers seem to run better than the other one, and cost quite a bit less than the other host. They fucked us off one too many times though. Shitters.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves until the AG VIP (thats me!) gives his seal of approval.

*wipes finger over server and looks at dust*

Oh yeah, and the GunGame wins going back to one is because it cant be linked to the hlstatx GunGame wins, also not sure if we can bring the wins over from the old server.

Biggest problem at the moment is the gravity settings when you triple level. At the moment whenever I touch the setting the same thing happens, which is when a player triple levels and then jumps, he'll end up hitting the roof and then floating on it before gently coming back down! I'm asking the GunGame mod devs about this issue, hopefully they'll have a fix or some ideas for me to try. :P

There is a gungame win database converter in the addons list. Just need to restart the server and see if it works!
