Right,

Put a new agp gpu in the old machine and the problem i had,which was a breakdown of the screen into stripes and random patterns was fixed.
Very strangly it did it again earlier on so i unplugged the card and plugged it back in and now its fine again, this didnt work with the old card btw.
Any ideas, anyone come across this before. I'm convinced its hardware and now i'm wondering if the mobo is on the way out?
